Last week, The Adobo Chronicles reported that the reign of the current titleholder of the Miss World 2013, Ms. Megan Lynne Young, has been extended for one full year.
Megan Lynne Young, 24, is an actress, a model, a VJ, a host, and a beauty queen. She won the title Miss World Philippines and was later crowned as Miss World 2013 on 28 September 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.
Mesmerized by the Filipina beauty’s talent, eloquence and popularity, the Miss World Organisation chairperson and owner Ms. Julia Evelyn Morley announced that the Filipina Beauty has been asked to keep her crown for another year (until 15 December 2015).
Ms. Morley said that the winner of this year’s Miss World 2014 would begin her reign by December of 2015.
She is the first woman from the Philippines to win the title of Miss World.
To date, this is the first time in history among all beauty giving bodies that the reign of a titleholder has been extended. Voluminous titleholders were stripped of their crown for various reasons, but this story of a beauty queen’s reign is a poles apart.
Filipinos all over the world rejoiced upon hearing the news.
